Fighting the Monday Blues

Many people dread Monday like it’s the end of all things good. If you’re coming off of a fun relaxing weekend, getting back into the swing of things can be a bit challenging. The challenge is more mental than physical.For me, how I start the week many times determines how I finish my week, so I try really hard to start off on the right foot. Below are a few tips on fighting the Monday Blues, and not only starting the week on a good note but finishing in Boss Mom Fashion!:)

1. Plan, plan, plan!! –Whether it’s ironing the kids clothes, mentally prepping their school lunch, cleaning fresh fruit for the week, making sure all papers are signed to send back to school, knowing what time to get that workout in, what to eat for breakfast and lunch (don’t sabotage yourself), even sneaking in that afternoon nap, planning is key to having a smooth stress-free Monday!

2.”Rome wasn’t built in a day” so calm down with that crazy to-do list, especially on a Monday,…Yikes!! That brings me to the next tip

3. Plan (there goes that word again) to PACE YOURSELF. Spread out that to-do list. Everything doesn’t have to get done in a day. So chill mama!!
I’m guilty of piling on unnecessary things in one day. I love this tip because when I pace myself, by the time Thursday comes, it might as well be Friday! Prioritize at the front part of the week so Thursday and Friday can be a breeze ( unless there’s some sort of deadline that has to be met).

4. Most importantly, remember that the Joy of the Lord is our strength!!!
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

Find and keep your Joy in praising the Lord!! And if you find your Monday isn’t going as planned, take a deep breath and adjust!:)
