My husband and I had the best time in Paris for our summer getaway (last trip celebration for our 10 year anniversary !!!!)— and making the choice to leave the kids behind was one the smartest decisions I’ve made all year, Lol!

From the classic Parisian hotel we stayed in, the fun activities all over town, indulging in bread, butter, cheese & wine, Paris was simply beautiful! The architecture itself was breathtaking.

For those of you who follow me on instagram, you’ve probably already seen our trip on my Instastory, but I thought I’d provide some of the links to our activities just in case you’re in Paris in the near future.:)

First up: Hotel Regina is where we stayed. I usually book directly through the hotel because I like to ask a lot of questions about the area and the room situation (Lol– I want what I want), but this time I booked through Expedia. Mostly because of the discounted rates and various packages.

I’m happy to report that Hotel Regina did not disappoint. It was everything I thought it would be. The customer service was top-notch and the view from our suite was one of the main reasons I booked this Hotel! The fact that it was in a great location – right across from the Musee du Louvre- didn’t hurt either!

The Musee du Louvre at night! We thouroghly enjoyed this museum. The fact that we didn’t have to wait in line was also a nice perk! We spent maybe three hours here and did not get bored BUT it was a lot of walking. Trying to find your way around got tiresome.

FYI, it gets pretty warm in here. We found ourselves trying to find floor vents to stand over just to cool off, Lol.

This Egyptian Exhibit was very impressive!

We did the Paris by Mouth Food and Wine Tour and it was fantastic! We got a chance to experience a different side of Paris. We explored the northern quarter of Marias and tasted bread, cheese, meats and wine, as well as learning some history along the way. Highly recommend this tour!!

Lots of WINE!!!

Bateaux Parisiens Dinner Cruise on the Seine! My husband’s favorite part of the trip! Three course meal, a bottle of wine and a quiet dinner, cruising along the major sites surrounding the Seine River!

Highly recommend!!!

The Palace of Versailles was overwhelmingly beautiful and spacious, Lol. We spent a lot of time at this estate. There is a garden that is impossible to see in just one visit. We rented bikes and rode around for about 2 hours exploring the bike paths. I think this helped push my husband into buying a peloton bike when we returned home from vacation. He really enjoyed that bike ride, Lol!!

FLATS, ON FLATS, ON FLATS!!! Getting around Paris in my Jimmy Choos!

I will do a blog post on the comfortable (and affordable) shoes that successfully got me around Paris. We used Uber and Taxi’s to get around but I heard the trains are the best way to go! We had no problems getting a taxi (since they were literally waiting outside our hotel most of the time) and the Uber system worked perfectly. For lunch and dinner, we simply walked. Everything was so close and accessible – my favorite thing about city living!

We actually had an extra tour scheduled but there was an unexpected death within the tour company so it was cancelled!:(  We were really sad about it because it was the tour we were looking forward to the most. It’s called Black Paris Tour. It’s a tour highlighting black history in Paris (the name kind of gives it away, lol). It came highly recommended through Trip-advisor. We plan to schedule it again next time we’re in town.

Two other places we plan to visit next time we’re in Paris:

Luxembourg Gardens

And that’s all folks!! 🙂

XO, Jessica
